Patience. Oh, we have so little of it these days.
Why wait? No fun in waiting.
Want a new phone, car, a house? Buy one today.
Tomorrow may not come. So live now, live fully, live…compulsively.
With such abundance of stuff, and immediate gratification..why there is so much unhappiness?
The wealthiest countries in the world are the mass consumers of anti-depression, anti-anxiety, sleep-inducing drugs.
More importantly, compulsive, pleasure-seeking behaviors, shopping, overeating, gaming, sex, mindless entertainment, have become the coping mechanism for survival of modern humans.
Thank God for credit cards. Thanks, Obama, for the credit card debt.
I want to introduce the happiness therapy concept called patience. Or delayed gratification of pleasure. Or learning to say no to impulses. Whatever you want to call it.
Because great things come to those, who wait.
Patience triggers mindfulness. Mindfulness triggers awareness. Awareness triggers your higher spiritual senses that are connected to your Source, God, the Universe, Creator…Your source of love and satisfaction beyond physical needs.
If you have not yet experienced spiritual awareness, you are doomed to act upon your desires with destructive compulsiveness.
Start your day with a simple affirmation. “Today I will experience everything mindfully. I will eat, drink, talk, and think while being fully present and aware of my actions. I will be patient and calm. I will make decisions, based on my real needs, instead of unhealthy desires”.
Awareness will set you free from financial disasters, addictions, and insomnia.
Trust that patience is the way your true heart’s desires are coming to you.
